Your vision is much more than just your eyes. Dr. Grossman starta from a surprising truth: embryologically and neurologically, the eye is brain tissue. Given that the brain has neuroplasticity, visual function could be more adaptable than many people realize. This opens the door to a broader, more hopeful way to think about eye health.

We walk you through the two ways we can work together. The first step is a free 10 to 15 minute discovery call to find out whether our natural eye care and integrative optometry approach could help you protect your precious gift of sight. To sign up, visit https://www.drgrossman2020.com/

The second step is a deeper 45 minute to 1 hour consultation where we get specific, building protocols that may include eye exercises, lifestyle adjustments, targeted nutritional supplementation, and complementary tools like acupuncture, Chinese medicine, microcurrent stimulation, and homeopathy. We also say this clearly: sometimes regular medicine, medication, or surgery belongs in the plan. Integrative medicine means using the best of both at the same time.

We also dig into why so many people are struggling with dry eye, cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration right now. Screen time, blue light exposure, chronic stress, nutrient-poor diets, and environmental toxins can all stress the visual system. You’ll hear how proper nutrition and key nutrients like macular carotenoids, antioxidants, omega-3s, and bioflavonoids fit into a holistic strategy, along with breath and mindset practices that heal the nervous system.

If you want a clearer, more actionable roadmap for long-term eye health, subscribe, share this with a friend, and leave us a review.

Two Consultations You Can Book

SPEAKER_00

And today's podcast is on two consultations that I offer. One is a free 10 to 15 minute phone consultation called a discovery call to find out if what I offer could be helpful for you to keep your precious gift of sight. The other consultation is a longer 45 minutes to an hour consultation that will go into specific protocols on how to help your eyes.

The Eye As Brain Tissue

SPEAKER_00

So let's go on a few different premises here first that I start off all my consultations with. First, embryologically, physiologically, neurologically, the eye is brain tissue. If science is shown about the neuroplasticity of the brain, then there's neuroplasticity of the eye. I've seen scans that I take on people's eyes from glaucoma to macular degeneration get better to cataracts. Yes, vision can improve, but sometimes we need regular medicine, sometimes we need surgery, sometimes we need medication. But the question is, can we add things to our toolkit instead of just glasses, contact lenses, surgery, or medication?

Building An Integrative Toolkit

SPEAKER_00

Over 45 years I've added many, many things to my toolkit to try to help people, from eye exercises to Chinese medicine to acupuncture, to microcurrent stimulation, to homeopathy. Yes, there's many things we can do to try to keep our vision better than just medication or surgery. And it's not alternative medicine, it's integrative medicine. We can do both simultaneously. So why is this needed?

Modern Life And Rising Eye Disease

SPEAKER_00

In today's fast-paced, screen saturated and stress-filled world, visual health is under greater threat than ever before. Eye conditions such as dry eye, macular degeneration, cataracts, glaucoma are on the rise, not only due to aging, but also because of modern lifestyle factors, including nutrient poor diets, digital overexposure, toxin accumulation, and chronic stress. Do you know that in the 1920s and 30s there was less than 5% incidence of nearsightedness, and now it's over 50%? Oh, maybe it's something in how we're using and abusing our eyes that has caused that. It's not genetics, it's our high technological world. What we're going to talk about is how you can explore how a body, mind, and spirit approach can optimize eye health, preventing vision loss, and promoting a lifelong clarity

Treat The Person Behind The Eye

SPEAKER_00

of sight. I will teach you how to bridge traditional practices to address both the root causes and early signs of ocular dysfunction. Remember, I don't treat the eye. Oh, that's different than an eye doctor. I treat the person behind the eye. The eyes are tools for the mind, as we know. We will go into functional and lifestyle medicine, eastern healing systems, and offer an integrative roadmap to healthy vision. The impact of modern lifestyle stresses on visual function and ocular surface health includes screen time, environmental toxins, blue light exposure, and adrenal fatigue. An overview of how I can work with specific ocular conditions such as dry eye, macula cataracts, will be addressed holistically through diet, lifestyle, and energetic balance.

Oculonutrition Breath And Nervous System

SPEAKER_00

The role of oculonutrition, including macular carotenoids, antioxidants, omega-3s, bioflavonoids, the power of the breath, mindset, visualization, stress to shift the nervous system from sympathetic overdrive into parasympathetic restoration, which is essential for ocular circulation and cellular repair. We will identify key lifestyle environmental contributors to many of the age-related eye diseases in the modern world.
