One of the negative effects of diabetes is the effect of high blood sugar on the retina. Around 1/3rd of diabetic patients have symptoms of diabetic retinopathy, and an additional 1/3rd have this eye disease. However, many do not even know the symptoms. Dr. Grossman talks about the symptoms, research into diabetic retinopathy, and practical tips based on studies.
